Know the graces and the shadow passions of your soul
This workshop takes you deep within your soul to discover and explore the forces through which you genuinely do influence your reality.
If someone asked you to explain exactly how you influence the day to day reality of your life through the choices you make, what would you say? Going even deeper, how would you respond if someone asked you to identify the real source of your suffering? Or the center of your joy? Or how often you pray to deeply understand another person rather than yourself? This is a workshop that leads you into the core of your interior, the very center of your laboratory of creation.
What is the fuel we use to ignite and empower our choices? The beginning of my answer to that question is this: the soul has access to seven graces and seven shadow passions. From these emanate countless other expressions of these graces and primary shadows, but essentially these are the fourteen forces that form the interior working laboratories of each of us. To know these 14 forces is to know exactly what kind of fuel you put into each choice you make and the deeper outcomes of those choices: the reason you suffer, the reason you do or do not have joy, even whether or not you want to heal.
More than just knowing these graces and shadows, however, you need to know how intimately you draw upon them and how they work their way through you. Whether or not you are conscious of them doesn’t change a thing. These are your resources, your 14 batteries. They are always pulsating within you. If you ever wonder “What made me do that?” or “Where am I going to get the strength to endure?”, these power centers hold the answers.
This workshop is about coming to know yourself more deeply than you probably ever have, about understanding the nature of your mystical ingredients. And it’s about how you live your day to day life after you realize that, in fact, you are blessed with an abundance of grace that you can bring into every choice you make—or not. It challenges you to look at the choices you’re making each day and ask yourself: if I’m not using grace, what am I using?
Grace is the soul’s most subtle, seductive and mystical force; it has to be experienced to be understood. One of its unwavering characteristics is that it leads you into action and that action is always one of healing and transformation. It always sets you on a right course. It always offers tranquility. In my work in healing, I have discovered that those who healed seemed to find a resonance with the graces, even if they didn’t know them by name. Once you do know them by name, however, you become seduced by them. You fall in love with them and yearn to know them even more deeply.
For me discovering these seven graces and shadow passions was equal to discovering the Holy Grail of healing because I realized that the mystery of healing was not so much about figuring out why someone hurt you, but rather why you want to hurt them—and why you dwell on that. What is it in a human being that makes that person dwell on hurting another? The desire to cause another pain is the true meaning of hell and suffering. The seven shadows explain the riddle of why you can’t let go of your pain, why you want to keep it alive and pass it on. And your graces explain why you have such a yearning to discover your path of highest service, why you keep seeking the answer to your soul’s deepest question: what is the reason for which I was born?
This workshop will focus on questions such as:
As with all CMED workshops, this workshop is experiential and focuses on practical applications to everyday life. Healing work is always an integral part of the weekend.
