George Washington Sacred Contracts of America

Dec 6, 2005

Hi Everyone:

I know you've received several mailings about the upcoming book, THE AUTOBIOGRAPHY OF GEORGE WASHINGTON - I am delighted to tell you that the book is now in our CMED bookstore. It's 348 pages and it is a great read. I am equally delighted to tell you that "George", as it/he's known around the office, will be in all the bookstores around the country come February. One history teacher commented after reading George Washington that every class in America should have copies of this book. I, of course, agree with that because this book brings alive the character and personality of Washington. Equally important, though, is that this book so richly animates the love the Founding Fathers had for this nation and the passion - my God, the passion - they had for bringing this nation to life. We just don't see passion like that today and what a pity that is. We see a lot of anger, fear, and blame, but we don't see any genuine passion to bring for a great vision. You can't help but feel a twinge of envy, actually, as you read the way George describes the devotion he and Ben Franklin, John Adams, Thomas Jefferson, Sam Adams, and others had for starting the American Revolution. At times I wanted to jump through the pages of the book just to meet these men - just for a minute - just to see their faces and hear their voices. That's how real they became for me after working with this manuscript for so long.

I am so delighted that after 23 years, I can announce to you, "It's in the bookstore!" I do hope many of you will have the opportunity to read, THE AUTOBIOGRAPHY OF GEORGE WASHINGTON.

Oh, here's one of those delicious synchronicities - Dan Brown, who wrote The Di Vinci Code, is soon to release, The Solomon Code, which is a Di Vinci Code story line, only it is set in - you guessed it - the American Revolutionary times and the secrets of the Freemasons...which includes, of course, our dear George...

I hope all of you are having a wonderful holiday season....
Love, Caroline
