All of us can feel that the ground is shifting, if not quaking, beneath our feet during these unprecedented times of Global Axial Shift. Just looking at each day’s news headlines can be enough to make one feel powerless, lost, and fearful of what’s to come next…

From Climate Change, the loss of basic rights, Democracies losing their footing worldwide, uncertain economies, and a world becoming increasingly challenged with what’s true vs. what’s Illusion – it’s clear that, as one Era ends, so that a new one can begin, we find ourselves caught in the gravity field of a Global Dark Night. And what is unique about this Global Dark Night and the universal survival challenges that it has activated is that, for each of us, it couldn’t feel more personal.

Yet, Dark Nights are not just a chaotic time of survival, and therefore psychological upheaval. Rather, they always contain at their core a Spiritual Crisis. Indeed, the Dark Night of the Soul is the archetypal spiritual journey of transformation.

Every Spiritual Crisis in Life is a choice point for personal growth and transformation. The true challenge that exists in every upheaval or life crossroads is whether we can engage our capacity to empower ourselves – or give in to fear. Every choice in life, no matter how benign or threatening that choice may seem, is just a disguise for yet another opportunity to choose self-empowerment over fear.

But what is Self-Empowerment?

You are already very familiar with this word, of course. And, after all the courses, workshops, books, and seminars that you may have taken on personal empowerment, however, you might be wondering why you continue to have experiences, conversations, or relationships that leave you feeling disempowered, humiliated, exhausted, or depressed. This is not unusual feedback from people. In fact, nothing is more commonly shared. The fact is, self-empowerment needs to be understood as a lifestyle, not a goal accomplished at weekend workshop. Self-Empowerment is a verb, not a noun. You must continually refine your inner strengths and soul-skills in order to creatively navigate the Evolution of Life, and most certainly the Evolution of our Times.

Just like a mountain climber that needs different energy, stamina, breathing capacity, and power for each phase of the climb as they ascend and earn new altitudes toward the summit – you, too, are living in a time when new strength and footing are needed to ascend to new altitudes within yourself. Indeed, all of us require a new level of Self-Empowerment for this Era of global change and challenges.

Your new strength can be found in advancing your own understanding of how to interpret the world in which you live. Archetypes and symbols are cosmic language – both ancient and modern, universal and personal, and constantly shifting to reflect the ever-changing landscape of human evolution. Learning to interpret the archetypal patterns in Life – and in your personal life – is a masterful skill that advances the single greatest power you have – the power of choice. The more cosmic your understanding is of the nature of Life and of your power, the more you realize that there is no such thing as a small choice and that you have the capacity to shift the entire flow of your life in the blink of an eye. The missing ingredient has never been money or position in life, but a failure to grasp the nature of your cosmic soul.

Today our challenges are best understood as both personal and archetypal. Archetypal patterns are active ingredients in global activities as well as in your personal life. You are energetically connected to a universal archetypal field of consciousness and the more you can perceive, the more empowered you become. And how you make your choices becomes an extension of your personal as well as cosmic identity.
