Setting the Scene for Your Hero Journey
In our first class, Caroline Myss and Robert Holden set the scene for your hero journey. They introduce you to the Hero Journey Map, made up of three Acts: Act 1: end of normal; Act 2: the path of initiation; and Act 3: the return home. Carl Jung wrote: “The most important question anyone can ask is, “What myth am I living?” A myth is a great story that you want to be part of e.g. a renaissance, a reformation, a good deed for the world, etc. Jung wrote, “I asked myself, ‘What is the myth you are living?’ And found that I did not know. . . So I took it upon myself to get to know ‘my’ myth, and I regarded this as the task of tasks . . . I simply had to know what unconscious or preconscious myth was forming me.”
