Spiritual Direction on the Art of Making Life Choices and Profound Decisions
A live workshop with Caroline Myss
August 31 – September 3, 2020 • The Hermitage Hotel, Nashville, TN
Few actions in life intimidate us as much as making decisions and life choices. So often we torment ourselves wondering which choice is the right one because we so fear the consequences of our decisions. What if we are humiliated? What if “things” don’t work out? What if I fail? It doesn’t matter that we are not even certain what we fail. How often have we decided to not do anything rather than fail, to leave our future in the hands of fate rather than take the bold step of making choices to influence the creation of events in our lives? What so many people do not realize is that activating our Destiny requires our active participation in the co-creation of our life. When we let our fears direct our choices, we end up letting “the Fates” decide what becomes of us. Curiously, making decisions and choices should not be the intimidating experience that it is for so many people at this time in our inner lives. We are, after all, the generation(s) who focus the most attention on listening to our intuition and following our guidance. And yet, we are also the generation(so) who suffer the most from not knowing how to listen to intuitive guidance. Instead, we have chosen to become the most litigious society history has ever known, using legal contracts as a way of holding others responsible for our personal decisions. We have become increasingly obsessed with the need to control our external surroundings instead of exploring how to become clearer and more certain about the nature of intuitive guidance in this age of the Inner Self. We have never been as free to make as many personal and professional choices as we are now – and never have we required so much support to become empowered enough to make those choices. How’s that for a paradox? This workshop is an exploration into the art of making decisions and choices, beginning with understanding that you must first know thyself. We are not born knowing who we are, what are talents are, what we will like in this lifetime, or what we will want to do throughout all the decades of our life. We have to continually ask ourselves provocative and soul-searching questions that draw from us responses about how we relate to our world right now; what we are feeling right now; what has changed about us in the past year, and so on. As participants you will learn:
- There is no such thing as a small or powerless decision. Every choice we make in our life holds the potential to change the whole of our life.
- Self-esteem and decision-making
- Understanding power and choices
- Confronting the fear of humiliation
- The power of words
- Personal practices for making life choices
When you understand the power of a choice, you never again feel helpless or hopeless. Come join me in this life-changing workshop.
