What is my favorite flavor of truth? Transformational truth! That is what attracted me to the study of archetypes and sacred contracts and that is why I am passionate about going through this journey of transformation with others! Archetypes are the lenses through which we perceive the world. When we can identify these energies in ourselves from a detached point of view, we can clearly see where our motivations, fears, desires, passions and choices come from; allowing us to then make an informed and conscious decision versus running our lives on “default” mode, according to the perceptions inherent in each archetype. This truth has transformed me in ways I cannot quite articulate, but I’ll give it my best try!
As a Seeker, I have spent many years seeking the truth about who I am, who God is for me and what my path should be and I’m here to tell you that thanks to the study and application of archetypes and sacred contracts, I, finally, surrender. However, this is not a surrender based on a feeling of having been defeated or beat down or of not having a choice. Rather, it is a sweet surrender, an acceptance of what is, of who I am (the good, the bad, the ugly, the precious), of who the other is and finally the understanding that all is one. It is the relief of knowing with certainty that when someone or something animates my soul, in such a way that I feel compelled to act or react, I have the ability to identify what archetype within me is being animated and why and I am now consciously aware that I have the choice to either, manage my energy, my personal and spiritual power or to give it away to others. I now know that no matter what the circumstance, it is never about the other, it is always about me, and whether or not I can hold my center and retain my power. And when I’m in my power, I have a choice as to whether I use it to empower or disempower myself or others. In the same manner, when others try to make me feel responsible for their joy or their sorrows, I can clearly see, that it is never about me, but about their ability or inability to hold their center with regard to me. And then, I have the choice to see and treat them with compassion or to get hurt or offended by their words or actions.
I don’t know about you, but in my life, most of my pain has come from feeling responsible for alleviating the pain of others or from making others feel responsible for my pain. The study of archetypes and sacred contracts has liberated me from this vicious cycle of blame (of self and others) and has freed me from feeling “fated” in any aspect of
my life. To become one with our destiny, we must be willing to give up all the myths we believe about ourselves, that make us feel fated. We must make a commitment to the management of our power. In order to properly manage ourselves, we must become consciously aware of the archetypes or energies of power that animate us in different areas of our lives and then investigate whether we are using those archetypal energies to empower or dis-empower ourselves and others.
Caroline has said ‘Your destiny requires all of you’ and so digging into the depths of your self and your soul is a very powerful way of understanding who you are now, what must be released that no longer serves you and it facilitates the creation of a road map to the you, that your soul is calling you to be. Jim Curtan, another gifted teacher at CMED, said ‘Your destiny is just as interested in being fulfilled as you are in fulfilling it’, so as you go into this beautiful rocky road to know and manage yourself, know that you are not alone and that your destiny is moving towards you, as you move into it.
