I’ve decided to devote this next Reflections class – Through the Firewall - to discussions on all matters related to the mysteries of our relationship with the Divine and the challenge of unraveling our mysteries during an era of profound chaos and change. We are, in a sense, dwelling in between worlds now. Long familiar traditions, myths, rituals, and social patterns are evaporating but we have yet to structure even the basic foundational beliefs of this age of energy, this era of the soul into which we are emerging. People have not yet collectively agreed that we are multi-sensory; that our intuitive intelligence is a genuine master skill that requires its own educational structure; that the energetic anatomy system is a vital part of our health; that we are interconnected to the whole of life and that we are conscious and unconscious agents of co-creation. Nothing just “happens” in our worlds – personal or collective – without the energy of our thoughts, choices, and the power of our myths.

The chaos we are experiencing is the result of this extraordinary period of time in which the majority of human beings are uncertain about what it is they truly believe in. They – perhaps even you - seek something to believe in but nothing to commit to; you question but find debate more comfortable than instructions leading you into yourself. This is the great era of transformation and we are being swept into that cosmic path together because it’s time. Simple as that. The era of wholism has arrived.

If we look carefully at the events and relationships of our lives, that pattern of wholism – and the subtle instruction to become whole – has been a constant thread. When we act in opposition to “that which makes us whole”, chaos in some form manifests within us and around us. Chaos, as I will discuss in this Reflections series, is a “language” of the Divine.

I chose the title, Through the Firewall, because a psychic firewall does exist between our rational mind and our soul. We cling to our need for proof before trust. We hold on to the way of the physical world, so fearful that somehow trust in the Divine will make our physical world evaporate. So many people cannot bring themselves to cross that inner Rubicon and finally experience that mystical union between their physical senses and their mystical consciousness. And yet – despite how intimating we may find the Sacred at times – the truth is our soul knows life is only a spiritual path. We either get that, or we live our lives waking up to that truth. Life is a journey of breaking through our inner firewall.

I could think of nothing more appropriate for this time of year – the end of all the election turmoil and the beginning of the holiday season – than to gather together in a retreat-like atmosphere in which I will frame each session around three prayers from my book, Intimate Conversations with the Divine.
