I’m an expert on falling down the Rabbit Hole. I live in the world of the imagination and the impossible. I rely upon the imagination to fill me with ideas on a continual basis. If I lived in the ordinary world, I would disintegrate in short order, because the ordinary world is a place filled with reasons why ideas can’t succeed and with the wounds of failure and painful memories of the past that haunt us with fears, holding us prisoners to our past.

I am an “Alice-o-phile”. I adore Alice in Wonderland and Alice Through the Looking Glass and have since the first time I read Lewis Carroll’s masterpieces. I just loved wondering how Carroll even thought of those characters … a Red and White Queen, the White Rabbit and the tea party (the real one). I loved every single page of those two books and I can’t even recall how many times I’ve read them – and still do.
I arrived home yesterday to news of the slaughter in Las Vegas. That I did not see or sense occurring. But nothing surprises me anymore – not even an act of evil on that massive a scale. And that’s what now keeps me awake at night – that I am not surprised. And why is that? Why do acts of evil – and they are acts of evil – no longer shock me?
